From Farm to Family: Your Qurbani is an Act of Love

It’s here!

It only seems like yesterday we were celebrating Eid-al-Fitr, and fast approaching in the not too distant future is Eid-al-Adha. This truly is a special time of year, for everyone involved, so it’s time to get prepared. The blessings are around the corner. Which means it’s time to start thinking about Qurbani.

The act of Qurbani is a time-honoured tradition of significant importance and holds a deep meaning to all Muslims. Each year we sacrifice an animal to feed those in need, honoring the sacrifice that Prophet Ibrahim made with his willingness to sacrifice his son, Prophet Ismail, for Allah. The Qurbani sacrifice takes place during the Eid period, and is an obligatory act for all Muslims who are of age, and have the means to do so.

Showing appreciation for our blessings

A key part of the act of Qurbani is to provide food to those who are in need, and that’s where Islamic Relief USA can help. We will ensure that your Qurbani donations reach those who need it the most. We’ve been carrying out Qurbani operations for the community since 1986. Islamic Relief USA has built up an efficient system to ensure that everything is handled with ease and proficiency. Not only that, we aim to provide locally sourced produce where possible, thus reducing the carbon footprint as well as costs, enabling your donations to go further.

A chance to serve

This year Islamic Relief USA is aiming to reach more people than ever before. With the Covid-19 pandemic still continuing to affect millions of people all around the world, there are countless families desperately in need of our support. Qurbani is an incredible way that we can offer them some relief. Your love and compassion during this special time of remembrance can make such a difference.

“Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you” Surah Al-Hajj (22:37)

It is advisable to donate as early as possible, due to the fact that the sacrifice offering period begins after Eid prayer on the day of Eid-al-Adha and ends on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah at sunset. So there are four days of sacrifice.

Here’s how you can help
