THE NIGHT OF POWER

THE NIGHT OF POWER.

Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Power) is considered to be the holiest night of the year, a night where Muslims across the globe stay awake to remember Allah, and all the wonderful blessings that he has bestowed upon us. As well as to reflect and seek forgiveness from Allah for any misdeeds and misgivings that may have befallen us.

Laylatul Qadr is an opportunity for Muslims everywhere to find peace and solitude, and to connect with Allah. Although believed to be on the 27th night of Ramadan, it is narrated in Bukhari that the Night of Power is during the last 10 days, on one of the odd nights. As stated by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), “Look for Laylatul Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.”

So, you’re on the lookout for Laylatul Qadr, you’re looking to reinforce your connection with Allah, and you’re looking for some dua’as just for the occasion? Look no further. These are some great dua’as you can use during the last 10 nights of Ramadan.

“O Allah, open for me the doors of Your Grace, send down on me its blessings, help me towards the causes of Your mercy, and give me a place in the comforts of Paradise, O the one who answers the call of the distressed.”

“O Allah, show me the way to win Your pleasure, do not let Shaytan have a means over me, make Paradise an abode and a resting place for me, O the One who fulfills the requests of the needy.”

“O Allah, cover me with Your mercy, grant me in it success and protection, purify my heart from the darkness of false accusations, O the Merciful to His believing servants.”

Furthermore, during the last 10 nights of Ramadan, make the intention to pray Tahajjud. Tahajjud, or the night prayer holds so much value for Muslims seeking forgiveness and blessings from Allah. Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet Muhammad stated that “The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer.” It was also narrated in Bukhari, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) stated that, “Whoever stands (in prayer) during Laylatul Qadr with faith and hoping for its reward will have all of his previous sins forgiven.” Therefore make the time Insha’Allah to make special Tahajjud prayers in search of Laylatul Qadr this Ramadan.
