My Giving Perspective After a Month In Paradise
During this time of year, people are thinking a lot about all the giving they’ll be doing, and all the receiving they’ll be doing, and all the food they’ll be eating …
I know it’s clichè to say this, but sometimes it’s the small things, what you’d least expect to be powerful, that make the most impact in the lives of others.
John Bunyan once said: “You have never really lived until you’ve done something for someone who can never repay you.”
And when Abdallah Shawky went to Greece to assist refugees as a Disaster Responder for Islamic Relief USA, he learned a hard lesson in giving and he received a new perspective on aiding refugees, one he’ll not soon forget.
I’ll let him tell you about it:
“OUR CONNECTION IS RIGHT THERE.”
